Let's just take a second and read that again, failure to do things that one should do. You know what it is that you want to do, I know you do, so why aren't you doing it? It may be to start your own business, to lose that excess weight, to get a 6 pack, whatever it is that you want you need to go and do it.
Sloth is a term we use for a lot of things, the animal, slowness in a person and also procrastination.
I am willing to bet a years salary that 95% of you reading this now are procrastinating in some way, carrying out less urgent tasks in preference to more pressing ones, ones we know we should be doing but aren't because you are scared of going through a little pain to achieve them. At the end of pain is success!
Sloth is one of the 7 deadly sins for a reason, because it is one of the things standing in your way on the road to greatness; a barrier that you must knock down, a barrier you will knock down because you are the type of person who gets shit done! The fact that you have joined the Life and Mind community confirms that.
Who wants to be a sloth? Not me. Not Paul. And we will NEVER allow that to be the case in our lives, because we want, no, we need to be great, there's no other way. That is why we started this blog, that is why we are in shape, that is why we always strive for the best in everything we do. So continue this journey of life with us, be great, get what YOU want from life, be the best of the best and make your mantra one of my favourites. If they throw me to the wolves, I will come back leading the pack!
If you are still in the sloth zone then go read Steven Pressfield - The war of art. You NEED it.
“Are you paralyzed with fear? That’s a good sign. Fear is good. Like self-doubt, fear is an indicator. Fear tells us what we have to do. Remember one rule of thumb: the more scared we are of a work or calling, the more sure we can be that we have to do it.”
