Most people have this notion that they need a plan B in life, a back-up in case something goes wrong. Well the problem with that idea is this; successful people have no such thing as a Plan B.
When you put together a Plan B, you are effectively defeating your Plan A. Why would you create a contingency in life, all that says about you is that you don’t believe in Plan A.
If you had a clear vision of what you wanted to do or be (Plan A) then you would commit fully to making this a reality. There should be no time for you to be thinking “oh, maybe I should put some things together in case this doesn't go as planned”. No, that is nonsense. Plan B for people is their comfort zone, and do you know what happens in your comfort zone?
A Plan B will distract you from your mission. The simple fact is that if there is no Plan B then Plan A absolutely has to work. There is no ‘ifs’ ‘buts’ or ‘maybes’. When you take that leap of faith (quitting your job, moving country, buying a house) and put everything into Plan A then you will have that extra motivation into making it succeed. You will execute Plan A like your life depends on it; because in a way it pretty much does.
Plan B breeds doubt and fear, neither of which you need in this life to achieve your dreams. Plan B is the epitome of ‘’being realistic” which you have probably heard people tell you. My response to that is Why? Why on earth would you be realistic? What does being realistic achieve? Successful people are not realistic, so why should you be? People put together a back up plan because they are afraid of failing and being ridiculed, but remember failure is an absolutely necessary step on the road to success.
So don’t be afraid of failing, don’t be afraid of people ridiculing you for not being “realistic”. If you have a Plan B right now then throw it away as far as possible and never look back. Set your goals and commit to them 120%. Once you do that the world will conspire to helping you achieve those goals.
There is no other option.
