Many people in their final weeks or days reflect back and only then would they truly realise the full benefits of their old friends. Some people have time to track them down, try and make amends after all this time but the simple fact is that if they had maintained that friendship that person would have been beside their bed anyway no questions asked.
We have all done it, let friendships slip away whilst consumed in a hectic lifestyle. But when people come towards the end, Bronnie Ware noted that it wasn't the material things people were concerned about. It wasn't the money or the house or the cars that was important, it was more getting things in order for the people they care most about.
Friendship is a gift of life, BUT, friendships can also drag you down and keep you down. You have to decide who is going to improve your life and who is going to hold you back. If you can surround yourself with like minded people who strive for greatness and are ambitious then the possibilities are limitless.
So choose carefully who you want in your life, and then make sure that you maintain and evolve that friendship so that everyone involved it still getting something out of it. Remember who was with you at the bottom of the mountain so that when you reach the top you can enjoy the view together.
"Don't join an easy crowd. Go where the expectations and demands to perform and achieve are high"
"You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
